Privacy policy

Mudra Makes(“we”, “us”) runs this website at mudramakes.com and sells handcrafted pipe-cleaner gifts and hampers from India. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described below, and you are the Data Principal.

• Enquiry form. When you send us a note from the contact section, we receive your name, the phone number or email address you give us, and your message. Nothing else on that form is required.
• WhatsApp orders. There is no checkout on this site — orders are placed in conversation with us. In that chat you will typically share your name, phone number, delivery address and what you would like made. Your WhatsApp messages also sit with WhatsApp under its own privacy terms.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and records the pages you visit, roughly where you are (city or region level), and what device and browser you use. It does not tell us who you are.
• Your wishlist.Hearted products are stored in your own browser's local storage. That list is never sent to us and we cannot see it.

We do not take payments on this website, so we never see or store card, UPI or bank details here.

• To reply to your enquiry and quote for custom work.
• To make, pack, ship and follow up on the order you asked for.
• To hand your name, address and phone number to our courier so the parcel can be delivered.
• To understand which pages and products people actually look at, so we can improve the site.
• To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles. We will only send you marketing messages if you have asked us to.

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics ones, used to count visits and tell a returning visitor from a new one. They are not needed for the site to work — nothing breaks if you block them.

• You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's browser opt-out add-on.

• Courier partners — name, delivery address and phone number, so they can deliver and call you if they cannot find the address.
• Our hosting and email providers— enquiries are stored on our hosting provider's database server and may be forwarded to our studio inbox by an email delivery service.
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage data, as described above.
• WhatsApp and Instagram — if you choose to talk to us there, those conversations are also held by Meta under its own policies.

Beyond that, we share personal data only where the law requires it.

• Enquiries — kept while we are in conversation with you and for up to 24 months after, then deleted.
• Order and delivery records — kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
• Analytics — retained by Google under its standard retention period.

If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will, unless we are legally required to keep a record of a completed order.

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to do any of the following, free of charge:

• Tell you what personal data of yours we hold and what we have done with it.
• Correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
• Erase it, where we no longer need it for the purpose you gave it for.
• Withdraw a consent you gave us — as easily as you gave it.
• Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapacitated.

We make things for children, but we sell to adults. This site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Enquiries are stored on an access-controlled database and the site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfect, but we keep the collected data to a minimum precisely so there is little to lose, and we will tell you and the Data Protection Board if a breach affects you.

If our practices change — a new tool, a new way of taking orders — we will update this page. Please check back occasionally; the current version is always the one published here.
